Hi Wuri,
Sekarang saya sedang menjalani tahun kedua pada program Master of Technology in Textile Technology di RMIT University Melbourne Australia. Saya ADS awardee 2006.Waktu apply saya menggunakan ijazah D4 karena saya lulusan perguruan tinggi kedinasan dibawah Departemen Perindustrian (STT Tekstil Bandung). Menurut saya,lulusan D4 lebih mudah untuk melanjutkan di luar negeri, apalagi untuk bidang yang saya tekuni belum ada program pascasarjana nya di Indonesia. Teman-teman saya yg lain (D4 STTT) berhasil lolos beasiswa India, New Zealand dan Fulbright (untuk Phd) serta DAAD.

Semoga tercerahkan.

University Research Studentships: £13,500 per annum plus fees

City is offering a number of three-year, full-time doctoral research studentships, available to both home and overseas fee-paying students on a University-wide competitive basis. In 2008-09 these will attract a bursary of £13,500 per annum in addition to payment of the tuition fees. Successful candidates will usually be expected to undertake some teaching support activity in their second and third years, by agreement with the School concerned.

Overseas Research Students (ORS) Award Scheme
City is also offering a number of ORS awards for high quality full-time overseas research students, to meet the difference between the home and overseas tuition fee rates. Eligible candidates may apply for both University and/or School studentships and an ORS award.

Candidates may apply for a research studentship in any of the following areas:

City Community and Health Sciences:

In addition a three-year doctoral bursary of approximately £13,000 plus expenses is available for candidates in fields relating to Nursing and Midwifery. Applicants for this bursary will be considered in parallel and to the same deadline as for University studentships.

Job description
The Environmental Economics and Natural Resources Group of the Department of Social Sciences of Wageningen University is involved in theoretical and applied research looking for solutions of environmental problems and sustainable use of natural resources. For a PhD research project into fisheries management under uncertainty we are looking for an environmental economist.

The research project aims to develop ways to establish sustainable fisheries management strategies that take into consideration the stochasticity of fish stocks as well as the adaptation costs of policies and the fisheries fleet. Fish stocks are highly stochastic, and therefore difficult to predict, whereas the costs of adapting policies and the fleet tend to be high.

The research is carried out in Wageningen, and should lead to a PhD dissertation.

Required education/skills:University Graduate
You have an academic background as an environmental or resource economist with a completed MSc degree of excellent quality; a strong interest and experience in economic modelling and natural resource economics; good communicative skills and willingness to work in a team.

Job description
1. Regional Hydro-meteorologist
The EU Sixth Framework Programme has financed an Integrated Project
"Water and Global Change (WATCH)". Within this project the candidate
will be responsible for analysing and quantifying feedbacks between land
use (mainly irrigation), climate and the hydrological cycle. In addition
the project will focus on the impacts of climate change on water
available for irrigation. Feedbacks and impacts will be studied using
atmospheric analyses potentially sensitive areas to feedback under the
historic climate and through the development of 3D coupled models.

2. Analyses of European water scenarios for their impact on the
agricultural sector
The EU Project "Water Scenarios for Europe and for Neighbouring States"
(SCENES), will specify a set of multi-scale European water scenarios.
Within this project the successful candidate will be responsible for
analyzing the impacts of climate and socio-economic changes on water
quality and quantity; and how these changes affect water availability
for food production. The research will involve the use of different
agricultural and/or hydrological models and the selection of suitable
criteria and indicators. The successful candidate will work in close
collaboration with partners from other European university involved in
the SCENES project.

For both positions there is the possibility to spend time at partner
institutes in the US.

Requirements
Required education/skills:University Graduate
For Ph.D. students:
A M.Sc. degree in the field of Water Management, Hydrology,
Environmental and Agricultural Sciences or related. Very good analytical
and computer skills; Great interest and some experience in the use of
hydrological or agricultural models. Experience and knowledge of issues
related to climate change issues would be an advantage. Candidates
should have good communication and writing skills and be willing to
travel. Especially for position 1 some experience in programming is
desirable.

Additional requirements For Post-docs:
A recent Ph.D. degree in a relevant field and extensive experience in
the use of agricultural or hydrological model and proven ability to
publish research results in scientific journals.

The Environmental Policy Group is an internationally leading and dynamic centre of expertise in the environmental social sciences. Theoretical and empirical research and undergraduate and post-graduate education are focused on the following themes: sustainable production and consumption; (inter)national environmental policies and politics; nature and natural resource governance. We cooperate in research and education with other disciplines from a solid disciplinary background in sociology and political sciences. The Environmental Policy Group participates in two national graduate schools, and is an active member and chair of a large number of international research networks. The group has 15 faculty members, some 35 international PhD students and annually 30-40 international master students. Recently the group has invested strongly in research and education (bachelor, master and PhD level) on marine and coastal governance.
