School of Social Sciences, Media and Communication

Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh is a research led institution
specialising in high quality research that touches people's everyday
lives.

Our postgraduate research students are a crucial part of the research
community. Each student works with a dedicated team of academic
supervisors and receives training in key areas of research. Research
students who receive bursaries are expected to participate in the
learning and teaching of undergraduate students.

The School of Social Sciences, Media and Communication is proud of
its dynamic research culture. QMU was awarded the Queen's Anniversary
Prize in 2002 for the clinical application of speech sciences, and
the Speech Science Research Centre continues to be at the forefront
of research into speech and communication. The School is also home to
the Centre for Health Psychology, as well as fostering a wide range
of research into culture, media, public relations and sociology.

QMU is making funds available for up to 7 PhD studentships in our
distinctive research areas. Successful applicants will have all fees
waived for three years and will receive support with living costs.
Within the School of Social Sciences, Media and Communication
studentships are available in:

Media history
Culture and politics
Social policy and justice
Critical perspectives in public relations
Intuitive versus rational thinking
Health psychology in relation to vulnerable / older patients
Development of externalising behaviours in children
Influencing life style changes in obese patients with diabetes
Physical barriers to communication in the elderly
Methods of eliciting speech and language data in children
Dyslexia
Maturational time course of the speech evoked auditory brainstem
response

Roehampton University is a young institution in a period of rapid

PhD positions in Accounting and Marketing
School of Business

4-6 positions within the areas of accounting and marketing at
Stockholm University School of Business are open for application.
Deadline is 17 March 2008. Reference No 617-0529-08.

Qualification Requirements

To qualify for the positions applicants should have a solid
educational background in accounting or marketing. They are also
expected to hold at least a Bachelor's degree in accounting or
marketing. This should include an independent research project, such
as a thesis.

Selection criteria

Selection is made on the basis of 1) the applicants' documented
knowledge in the relevant subjects, linguistic skills in English
(both spoken and written), and analytical, critical, thinking ability
and creativity; 2) a letter of intent outlining applicant's planned
research topic; 3) a personal interview; and finally, 4) two academic
references.

To be included in the application are a short presentation of
yourself, the reasons why you think you are suitable for the
position, curriculum vitae, and copies of all certificates and the
independent research project report (thesis) completed within the
remit of the Bachelor's or Master's degree.

Anu, itu bukan galaksi donut... Kalau pakar quantum fisik ngoceh soal time traveling, maka pasti ada unsur memelintir silinder dan... DONUT...;D... Tapi karena daku bukan saintist, maka ceritanya, ½galaksi½ dalam gambar itu hanya seukuran dot pada garis-garis paling tipis di situ...

So, mana bumi? nggak kelihatan... Hahahaha...mangkanya judulnya Dust in the Wind of Donut... Eniwei, itu cuman iseng latihan grafis ajah Mas Edy...

The Cluster of Excellence 'Engineering of Advanced Materials (EAM)'
funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Max-Planck
Research Group at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-
Nuremberg, Germany, invite applications for several postdoctoral
positions and PhD studentships, working on the design, fabrication,
characterization and applications of photonic materials and
structures.

Up to 6 PhD studentships and 4 postdoctoral research positions in

Nanostructuring of photonic materials
Electromagnetic modelling & theory
Metamaterials from molecules and particles
Microfluidics in photonic crystal fibre ("nanolabs")
Trapping and characterisation of single particles in focused laser

Kalau boleh tahu, kepentingan mengikuti TOEFL untuk
apa ya?
Yup, benar sekali, 2x dalam seminggu, hari Senin &
Kamis jam 9 WIB. Ongkosnya 125rb, hasilnya bisa
diketahui dalam 1-2hari via telepon, ijazah bisa
diambil anatra 3-7 hari, kalau gagal (dibawah 450)
masih ada remedi alias perbaikan ongkosnya 25rb.
Tapi.....setahu saya, UNDIP (dalam hal ini pihak SEU -
Servive English Unit - UPT Bahasa) tidak mengadakan
ITP TOEFL yang diakui secara luas, hanya untuk
beberapa lembaga lokal masih diakui. Artinya, untuk
melamar beasiswa internasional kemungkinan besar tidak
diterima (tetapi dosen saya lolos, jadi ya untung2an
saja), kalau untuk syarat kelulusan atau penerimaan
pegawai sih masih berlaku. Kalau kurang jelas bisa
menghubungi Mbak Yuni pada jam kerja.
Kalau kepentingannya untuk mencari beasiswa
internasional, saya sarankan untuk menghubungi CLT
Unika Soegijapranata atau ELTI Gramedia. Biayanya
250rb, hasilnya didapat dalam waktu 10-14 hari kerja.
Untuk kontaknya, bisa dilihat di buku telepon atau
hubungi 108, maaf saya tidak bisa bantu karena posisi
sekarang bekerja di luar kota.
