Both Side of the Story adalah sebuah lagu karya Phil Collins. Lirik lagu ini mengandung pesan bahwa sebuah realitas tak hanya memiliki satu sudut pandang. Hal yang sama juga berlaku untuk kompatiologi. Penelitian kualitatif kompatiologi yang dibuka dengan lagu Amazing Grace tampaknya ditunggangi ideologi yang merupakan kepentingan penemu dan penelitinya sendiri. Maka itu diperlukan 'Both Side of the Story' agar manusia tidak dibohongi oleh ideologi dan kepentingan berkedok ilmu pengetahuan.

Kami memilih lagu ini sebagai lagu pengantar untuk Peresmian Penelitian Evaluatif Kompatiologi berhubung ada tema yang sama yang terjadi di ruang dan konteks yang berbeda yaitu tentang adanya sudut pandang lain yang merupakan hak yang mesti diketahui semua manusia.

Pada jamannya Gereja masih berkuasa, ilmu pengetahuan digunakan untuk melegitimasi iman. Ilmuwan seperti Copernicus dan Galileo mesti diganjar hukuman ketika menyampaikan 'other side of the story'. Jaman ini merupakan pelajaran yang paling jelas di mana ilmu pengetahuan ditunggangi kepentingan-kepentingan tertentu.

Pada jamannya Vincent Liong, lagu lama yang terjadi di jaman Gereja berkuasa, diputar ulang untuk merayakan kepentingan-kepentingan tersembunyi dari segenap 'peneliti' (yang mengklaim dirinya peneliti nol dan peneliti ilmiah) dan praktisi kompatiologi. Mereka membungkus kepentingan-kepentingan pribadi mereka dengan mengatasnamakan kepentingan itu sebagai 'independensi bagi masyarakat umum'.
* Kegoyahan hidup mereka ganti nama menjadi "Independensi Iman".
* Ketidakmampuan bertanggungjawab atas apa yang dilakukan pada orang lain mereka ganti nama menjadi "Bertanggungjawab pada pilihan sendiri"
* Pembusukan yang biasa dilakukan oleh penemu Kompatiologi dituduhkan pada pihak lain
* Keinginan kompatiologi sendiri untuk dipatuhi dan diimani malah dituduhkan pada pihak lain.
* Kegagalan penemu dan pendiri Kompatiologi dalam bidang pendidikan dicarikan alasan pembenaran melalui istilah "Independensi Pendidikan"
* Kebodohan penemu dan pendiri Kompatiologi sehingga tak mampu memiliki ijazah dan gelar yang sebenarnya diinginkannya, diputar-balik dengan kalimat: "Keyakinan akan politik kasta jenjang pendidikan dan ijasah"

Agar anda masing-masing dengan inisiatif sendiri mampu melihat "Both Side of the Story". Agar anda bisa melihat bahwa penemu dan pendiri kompatiologi sendiri masih mengharapkan uluran tangan pihak lain dan belum bebas, mandiri seperti pedagang atau perantau. Agar anda tidak dibohongi.

Penelitian ini untuk merayakan independensi kita dalam menilai kompatiologi. Sekaligus sebentuk tanggung jawab terhadap pengetahuan, kebenaran, dan kemanusiaan.
